Daltonganj, Jan 19: The three new medical colleges of Jharkhand namely Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in Palamu district, Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital (PJMCH) in Dumka district and Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in Hazaribagh are awaiting to start online work for the ensuing admission of the medicos for the academic session 2021 – 22.

The medical colleges have not received any login ID and password from the Government of India so far. As a result, these three new medical colleges are forced to stall their work for the admission.

Principal of MMCH in Daltonganj Dr Shailendra Kumar said: “We have approached the additional director general of medical education, government of India for providing us the login ID and password.”

“We will seek active cooperation and assistance from our Jharkhand director of health and medical education Dr Arun Kumar who is also the principal of PJMCH Dumka,” he added.

Registration for online UG counselling for MBBS, BDS and BSc nursing only for central institutes of nursing courses has begun from today January 19.

However, the three new medical colleges in Jharkhand are yet to be enlisted for the online counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee.

There is a 15 percent All India Quota for the admission. The three new medical colleges in Jharkhand have been allowed to take 100 admissions only for the current academic session by the medical assessment and rating board of the National Medical Commission.

Sources said medical aspirants of Jharkhand are expected to be inclusive only in the third round of the online UG counselling.
