Dhanbad, Jan 20: Two persons died on spot in car- truck collision at inter-state GT Road under Barbadda police station of district today in the morning.
Officials of Barbadda police station said the incident occurred around 8 am. Swift- Dzire car was coming to Dhanbad from Hazaribagh when reportedly it hit the standing truck on road from rear. The deceased were identified as Girdhari Mahto and driver of the car Mahendra.
The collision was so massive that the driver was thrown far away from the car while police had to break the door of the vehicle to bring out the body of Girdhari Mahto.
“Bodies are being sent to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) for post mortem,” said Suman Kumar, officer in-charge of Barbadda police station.
An eye witness on the spot said that the car was coming at high speed and the driver seemed to have lost control of the vehicle which might have resulted in collision.
The car directly hit the truck that was standing on the side of the road . After the accident, local people tried to rescue a trapped person from the car. Police reached the spot and brought out the rider. However, both of them had already died before they could have been rescued.
