Ranchi, Jan.21: The state government, which is committed to promote regional and tribal languages, is also all set to establish 80 English medium model schools and taking its due affiliation from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to shape the bright future of young Jharkhandis under Adarsh Vidyalaya scheme.
It will pave the path of acceptance of global language and help the government prove that with local language, it is also committed to become global.
It materializes the vision of Chief Minister Hemant Soren to improve the level of education in Jharkhand.
To get the work done, work of constructing model schools at the Panchayat level has started. The CM himself is monitoring the construction of the schools to ensure speedy construction.
Apart from this, focus on capacity building of principals and teachers are being done. Under the capacity building programme, leadership qualities of principals are being improved.
For this, the education department has registered 325 principals for training at the block level, out of which the training of 176 principals has been completed. The training of the remaining will be completed by January 31, 2022.
As many as 740 teachers have participated in this training programme. In this 10-week training program, training was imparted to develop technical capability of teachers posted in schools. SCERT and DIET have prepared subject-wise effectively for the training programme for the teachers to ensure that they could do their best.
Apart from this, capacity development is being done through a continuous system of evaluation of teachers, improvement of quality of schools through State Teacher Parivartan Dal, motivation camp, educational demonstration of teachers and other oriented programs.
Around 15 lakh children are expected to be benefitted by this scheme. Proper planning is being chalked to ensure that students should not only be able to write and read properly but speak fluently to match with the English-speaking persons across the world.
The government is working on a plan to start the ‘Aao Padhe-Khub Padhen’ campaign for all the students studying in model schools to get the ability to read textbooks.
Reading textbooks, stories, articles and words will be practiced as reading material. Along with this, the cooperation of NCERT, NEIP and organizations working in this field will be taken to develop the ability of children to speak English. With the establishment of language labs in schools, spoken English courses will be prepared and conducted in schools.
