Ranchi, Jan.22: Coal India Ltd (CIL) chairman Pramod Agrawal today chaired a review meeting of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) at its headquarters in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The agenda of the meeting was to increase supply of coal to the power plants, situated in various states of the country. He also reviewed the implementation of the ERP in the company so that the stakeholders get benefitted from this new system.
CCL CMD P.M. Prasad, CMPDI CMD Manoj Kumar, Director (Pers) P.V.K.R Mallikarjuna Rao, Director Technical(P&P) S K Gomasta, General Managers/HoDs of various departments attended the meeting. Area General Managers were connected via video conferencing.
Agrawal reviewed the performance of the company and issued necessary instructions to increase the production in the remaining period of ongoing FY Year 2021-22.
Chairman Agrawal expressed his confidence in taking CCL and said that the company will attain the desired target of the current fiscal and asked each area GM to meet the target of respective areas.
He also asked the CCL management to ensure uninterrupted supply of coal to the power plants.
CCL CMD Prasad briefed him regarding performance and related issues. Chairman Agrawal also appreciated the efforts of the company in Covid relief and the welfare of the stakeholders.
Jharkhand based subsidiary of CIL- CCL is carrying out mining activities in eight districts of Jharkhand and meeting the energy needs of the nation.
Mining sector contributes around 2% to India’s GDP. The sector directly and indirectly employs over 1 crore people and sustains the livelihood of about 5.5 crore people in our country. 1% growth in mining results in an increase of up to 1.5% growth of industrial production and 1 direct job in the sector creates 10 indirect jobs.
The meeting was attuned to Covid-19 safety protocols.
