New Delhi, Jan 24: India reported nearly three lakh new COVID-19 infections for the sixth day in a row, despite the fact that the caseload was 8% lower than the day before, according to government data.

With the addition of 3.06 lakh instances recorded today, India’s Covid tally now stands at 3.95 crore, making it the second worst-affected country behind the United States.

According to the Health Ministry, 439 people have died as a result of Covid in the last 24 hours. During the pandemic, the coronavirus has killed at least 5,572,224 people since the outbreak began in China in December 2019 according to AFP.
