New Delhi, Jan 24: According to a set of recommendations released by the Delhi Police, those attending the Republic Day parade must be completely vaccinated against Covid, and minors under the age of 15 would not be allowed to participate.

At the session on Rajpath on January 26, people would be required to follow all Covid-protocols, including wearing face masks and maintaining social distance. “Both doses of the anti-coronavirus vaccine are required. Visitors must have their immunisation proof with them “The Delhi Police sent out a tweet.

Children under the age of 15 are not permitted to attend the event, according to the statement.

Notably, the national Covid vaccination campaign, which began on January 16 last year with health care and frontline workers, was gradually expanded to include everyone over the age of 18.

Owing to an increase in instances due to the Omicron variation, youth between the ages of 15 and 18 have been vaccinated, and healthcare and frontline workers, as well as individuals aged 60 and older with comorbidities, have been given ‘precaution’ doses.

The Delhi Police tweeted the directions, stating that the seating blocks will open for guests at 7 a.m. and requesting that they arrive on time. Because parking is restricted, tourists are encouraged to carpool or take a taxi. They must also have a valid identification card and cooperate during the security check.

“There will be a provision for depositing remote-controlled car lock keys in each parking area,” police tweeted.

Earlier on Sunday, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana had said over 27,000 police personnel have been deployed for security duties in the national capital and anti-terror measures intensified in view of Republic Day.

Deputy commissioners of police, assistant commissioners of police, inspectors, and sub-inspectors are among the individuals involved. He had also stated that police officers, commandos, officers, and jawans from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) had been deployed.

Asthana had previously stated that 27,723 Delhi Police officers, including 71 DCPs, 213 ACPs, and 753 inspectors, had been deployed in the city for the march. A total of 65 CAPF firms are assisting them.

Blockades (nakka bandi) at various locations, car inspections, hotel, lodge, and dharamshala inspections, and various verification drives of tenants, servants, and labourers are among the anti-terror measures conducted, according to him.

About traffic arrangements, Asthana had said an advisory has already been issued stating specific restrictions on routes so that no inconvenience is caused to the general public.
