Jamshedpur, Jan 24 : The IMD forecast has some good news in store, if you are fed up with the current spell of unseasonal showers.

The Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of fair weather from Wednesday, January 26 – celebrated as Republic Day.

“The rainfall activity would be confined to north eastern and some isolated pockets of central Jharkhand during the next 24 hours. The impact of the western disturbance which has resulted in formation of two trough lines resulting in  seasonal rains over Jharkhand is on the wane.  Weather condition is gradually improving .We are expecting bright weather with fog and mist early in the morning from Wednesday,” said Abhishek Anand, head of Ranchi Met Centre.

Data revealed that most parts of the state including Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Koderma, Hazaribagh and several other districts experienced intermittent showers during the past 24 hours ( 8.30 a.m. of Sunday to 8.30 a.m. of Monday).

Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum and Ghatshila in West Singhbhum recorded highest rainfall of around 20 mm during the past 24 hours.

IMD’s Patna Met Centre also corroborated its Ranchi counterparts by predicting  light  rain in north- eastern Jharkhand during the next 24 hours.

Today’s satellite readings suggested that an east-west trough was running from Haryana to north Chhattisgarh

across south Uttar Pradesh at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.

Another north-south trough was stretched from Bihar to north Odisha across Jharkhand at 2.1 Km above the mean sea level.

The cloud cover resulted in an abrupt rise in minimum readings in most parts of the state on Monday

However, the weatherman said that the minimum reading would again witness a fall from Wednesday bringing back the chill.

Meanwhile, several places including Jamshedpur witnessed dense fog early in the morning on Monday .

The dense fog cover reduced surface visibility disrupting movement of vehicles especially on NH 33 connecting Jamshedpur with Ranchi.
