Dumka, Jan 24: Dumka district administration is busy giving finishing touches to the preparation for the Republic Day function here in the sub-capital when the Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hoist the tricolour at police line ground, the venue of the main event.
Deputy commissioner Ravishankar Shukla inspected the final rehearsal of the Republic Day parade on Monday when he presided over a meeting with the officials and emphasised on the need of ensuring Covid preventive measures throughout the event.
“It will be obligatory for one and all attending the Republic Day function at police line to be masked and follow social distancing” the press release of the public relation department on Monday quoted the deputy commissioner as directing adding that arrangements of sanitisers should also be made at each and every entry points and other strategic locations.
The CM is also scheduled to launch the petrol subsidy scheme on the Republic Day and sum amounting Rs 250 will be transferred by him to over one thousand beneficiaries of the district who have been shortlisted for the purpose to mark its rolling out.
“A few among the shortlisted beneficiaries will be handed over symbolic cheques of the subsidy amount of the maiden month of the petrol subsidy scheme by the chief minister himself to and amount to the rest of them will be instantly transferred through direct benefit transfer (DBT) to mark its formal launching” said an official adding that over 7000 ration card holders of both the national and state’s food security schemes were so far registered in the district under the scheme.
The petrol subsidy scheme envisages to provide monthly subsidy of Rs 250 on purchasing of maximum 10 litres of petrol by the qualified beneficiaries owning on – road motorcycle, every month which was recently approved by the state cabinet.
