New Delhi, Jan 25: Union Budget 2022 is likely to be presented at 11 am on 1st February, despite staggered timing for Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the bill.  Interestingly, Sitharaman will propose her fourth budget since taking office in 2019, while the Narendra Modi-led BJP administration will present its tenth since coming to power in 2014.

Meanwhile, the Economic Survey will most likely be presented in Parliament on January 31 before the Union Budget is tabled.

While India is dealing with the third wave of Covid-19, economists, salaried workers, and business professionals are optimistic about the annual report. GDP estimates will be a key metric to keep an eye on.

Notably, as a result of the lockdowns and other Covid-19 related limitations, India’s GDP dropped by 7.3 percent in 2020-21.
