Ranchi, Jan 29: The schools which have been closed in Jharkhand for the past 2 years will soon be reopened as Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto has taken an initiative in this direction.

He has called upon a meeting today with the Secretary of Disaster Management and officials of the Health Department in which a decision to open the schools will be taken.

In such a situation, the state government can take a decision to open the school with some precautions. However, after the proposal of the government, the final decision has to be taken by the disaster control department itself.

The risk of infection among adults was high in the first and second waves of the corona, but at present, children were feared to be more infected in the third wave of the corona. There were also reports of infection spreading among children from many places.

At the same time, State Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto has said that in the past according to the guidelines of WHO, Central Government and State Government, restrictions have been implemented to prevent corona infection.

“In such a situation when schools are opening in other states, we are worried for the schools to re-open in the state too,” Mahto said.

Due to Corona in the state, primary schools from class 1- 5 are closed since March 17, 2020. Whereas classes from 9-12 were opened from 5th August 2021. Classes 6-8 opened on 24 September 2021. However, before this, from December 21, 2020, offline classes of 10th and 12th were started in high school.

At the same time, after the third wave of coronavirus, the order to close all educational institutions was issued on January 3 this year.
