Ramgarh, Jan 29: The body of the grandson of former Hazaribagh MP Mahavir Lal Vishwakarma, a senior leader of BJP and RSS, has been found in a suspicious condition.

30-year-old Avinash alias Sonu Kumar Rana was the son of Kedar Rana, a resident of Nawada village of Katkamdag police station area. He had left the house on Thursday evening saying that he would go to his maternal grandmother’s (Nani’s) house.

It was reported to the police when he did not arrive late at night. His body was discovered in suspicious condition near the cremation ground on Shankarpur-Nrusingh Sthan route of Barkagaon road on Friday based on the mobile tower location.

The youth used to work as a computer operator in the Kanta Ghar of NTPC located at Sonu Banadag Railway Siding.

Katkamdag police took the body in their possession and sent it for postmortem. On suspicion of murder by the family members, the police called for a disguise squad and are investigating the matter.

According to the victim’s relatives, after the relocation, he worked at the Hazaribagh train station Kanta Ghar.

Sonu used to go to Nura for duty from Nani’s house. On Thursday, he was not on duty. He said he was going to his grandmother’s house but instead went to work and did not return to Nawada.

Katkamdag police station in-charge Vipin Kumar Yadav and Muffasil police station in-charge Bajrang Mahto started investigation by taking possession of Sonu’s body. Poison bags were also found next to the body, raising the possibility of suicide.

There is also a possibility that this may have been done by the killers to divert the matter towards suicide. Sonu was unmarried and was the eldest of three brothers and one sister.
