Kanker, Feb 4: In Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, a 28-year-old lady was discovered hanging in her home with her two minor children, including her 11-month-old boy, police said on Friday.
Police believe the lady committed herself by hanging her children, but the actual motive for her drastic action is yet unknown.
The event occurred on Thursday at Musurputta hamlet in the Dudhawa area of the district, around 150 kilometres from Raipur’s city, and the victims were identified as Bhuneshwari Dhruv, her daughter Devika (2), and son Tikeshwar, according to officials.
Bhuneshwari’s husband Chetan, who had gone to his field for work, returned home in the afternoon hours and discovered the trio hanging from the ceiling with sarees, he added.
He raised an alarm and alerted his neighbours, who then informed the authorities. The police arrived quickly and took the remains away for a post-mortem, he said.
“No suicide note was found at the spot, but prima facie it seems the woman hanged herself after hanging her two children,” said the official.
Investigation into the case is underway.
