Bijapur, Feb 8: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) bomb launched by Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district injured four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men on Tuesday, police said.
When a squad of CRPF’s 153rd battalion was out on an area domination operation on the Murkinar road under the Modakpal police station area around 3 p.m., the event occurred, according to Inspector General of Police (Bastar region) Sundarraj P.

He said the patrolling squad, which had began the operation from its Chinnakodepal camp, was cordoning off the forest along Murkinar road, around 450 kilometres from the state capital Raipur, when ultras exploded the IED, injuring four people.
The injured jawans were evacuated from the spot and shifted to Bijapur district hospital.
