Jharkhand Government to hold Sports Talent Search Competition for children

Ranchi, Feb. 18: Talent Search Competition 2021-22 will be organised at the district and state levels for the selection of trainees in residential (except hockey and archery) and day-boarding sports training centres operating across different districts of the state. All the district sports officers have been instructed by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs to organise a competition for their selection. The district-level competition will be held at the district headquarters between February 21st to 24th, 2022, and the state-level competition will be held in Ranchi between March 1st to 4th, 2022.

 

Who can take part in this competition?

 

Boys & girls aged between 10 to 12 years (date of birth should be between 1-2-2010 to 31-1-2012). 40 best performing players (20 Boys & 20 Girls) will be selected at the district level who will then go on to participate in the State Level Competition. Best performing children will be placed according to the vacancies in various training centres across the State. The selected children will also have to undergo medical examination.

 

Children will have to undergo a battery test

 

The selection of trainees during the talent selection competition will be done on the basis of a Battery Test (NSTC) and the respective norms. For this test, the criteria is : body weight – maximum 35 kg, height – maximum 124 to 153 cm. Trainees will participate in 30m Flying Start, 6*10m Shuttle Run, Ball Throw, Vertical Jump and 800m Run. Participants will have to submit identity proof, an Aadhar Card / Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation / Panchayat, and two passport size photographs (updated).
