Mohali, March 4: During the first Test against Sri Lanka at the PCA stadium in Mohali on Friday, Indian batsman Virat Kohli added another achievement to his test career by passing the 8000-run mark in Tests.

It’s also his 100th Test match, making him only the 12th Indian player to do so. He has scored 8000 runs in 100 games, with a top score of 254*. In the format, he likewise averages 50.63, with 27 hundreds and 28 fifties.
Kohli now joined an elite list of Indian batters to achieve this milestone. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar (15921), Rahul Dravid (13265), Sunil Gavaskar (10122), VVS Laxman (8781), and Virender Sehwag (8503) managed to surpass the milestone.
Kohli ranks fourth on the list of Indians with the most hundreds. Tendulkar leads the charts with 51 hundreds, followed by Dravid and Gavaskar with 36 and 34 centuries, respectively.
Meanwhile, at today’s match before being dismissed by Lasith Embuldeniya, Rohit Sharma batted for 29 runs and Mayank Agarwal for 33. Embuldeniya also got the wicket of Virat Kohli 45(75). At present Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were at crease.
