Ranchi, Mar 7: With government schools reopening around the district for classes I to VIII on Monday, the state has passed new guidelines and rules for the teachers to follow.

Notably, the government granted permission to reopen all schools for students in and below class VIII after around 720 days, however, only government schools are now open as private schools have end semester exams being conducted for now. Due to this, several private schools have decided to reopen schools for the next sessions.

As per the new guidelines passed by the state government, the school administration has been instructed to make sure that Mid-Day meals continue for students that will join schools from Monday as per the routine without any hassle.

The school managements have also been sending mounts in bank accounts to maintain the flow of high protein and vitamin sources including eggs and fruits.

Meanwhile, schools have already sanitized classes for students, while some were even decorated with balloons to welcome students after a long time.

State government has also instructed that no student be admitted to the school campus without agreement letters from parents, expressly allowing students to attend classes in schools, as offline classes for all are yet to be made compulsory. Students may attend classes online, if they want to.

Notably, schools have opened from Monday for children of classes I to VIII in seven districts of Jharkhand including Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Deoghar, Chatra, Simdega, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Bokaro.

The Department of School Education and Literacy has issued guidelines in this regard. Classes are to be conducted in schools; however, offline examinations have been banned in schools till March 31 for class VIII.

Along with this, to help cope up with the backlog and with the aim to help students that grew weaker in studies during Covid, the state government has come up with the idea of remedial classes and has added them in the budget for the new fiscal year.

Remedial classes will be organized for the education of corona affected children. Under this, the government will also make the children of classes 1 to 10 in their class study the previous class syllabus.

Three types of work books will be given to the children in each class. Based on the performance of the children in the work book, a baseline will be decided and accordingly the students will be made to study the new class syllabi along with the old class syllabus.
