Jharkhand: JPSC Mains exams begin without disturbance

Ranchi, March 11: The seventh to 10th JPSC Combined Civil Services Mains examination conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) began on March 11.

A total of 11 examination centres were set up in the capital Ranchi for 252 posts. Notably, 4749 candidates were set to appear in these examination centers. However, JPSC secretary Himanshu Mohan said, “Apart from 200-300 candidates, the rest appeared in the exams this year. However, an exact number is yet to be determined.”

The examination was held at various centres in the state and conducted in two shifts. The first shift was held between 10 am and 1 pm and the second shift exam was held from 2 pm to 5 pm. The examination of Paper 1 was held in the first shift and Paper 2 in the second shift.

JPSC secretary Himanshu Mohan said, “Police force had been deputed along with magistrates at all centres by the district administration for malpractice-free examination.” In this regard, ADM Law and Order Ramvriksh said that prohibitory orders were in force around the examination centres from 7 am to 8 pm. All the preparations for the exam were completed. So far, we have not had reports of any kind of disturbance or malpractice from any of the examination centers.

DAV Kapildev School Kadru, Ursuline Convent Girls School Purulia Road, Saint Paul College, Saint Aloysius High School, Saint John High School, Saint Anna Girls High School, Saint Anna Inter College, Saint Xavier Inter College, Guru Nanak Higher Secondary School, Gossner College Center A and Gossner College Sub Center B were chosen as examination centres for the same.

In view of the examination, the commission had issued guidelines for the candidates. Under this, it is mandatory for the candidates to bring two stamp size photographs and valid identity card for each attendance sheet to check for any kind of malpractice.

Notably, after the order of the High Court, JPSC had revised the PT exam results and released it, after which the dates for the mains exam have been announced again. Around 4885 candidates were declared passed when the revised result of Preliminary Examination (PT) was released; however, 4749 candidates filled the form of Mains Examination.
