Bengaluru, March 14: India won the second Test match by 238 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, clinching the series 2-0. India bowled out Sri Lanka for 208 in 2nd innings to win the match.
India resumed their second innings at 199/5 after the supper break, adding 104 runs in the third session before declaring on 303/9 in the second innings and setting Sri Lanka a target of 447 runs to win.

Shreyas Iyer led India with 67 runs, while Rishabh Pant scored the fastest Test fifty by an Indian in 28 balls. Spinner Praveen Jayawickrama, on the other hand, was Sri Lanka’s leading wicket-taker with 4/78, while Lasith Embuldeniya took three wickets (3/87).
Sri Lanka got off to a bad start in their chase for 447 runs, losing the wicket of Lahiru Thirimanne (0) in the first over of the innings, delivered by Jasprit Bumrah. However, Kusal Mendis (16 not out) and Dimuth Karunaratne (10 not out) saw out the rest of the day’s overs and prevented India from picking up any more wickets.
Notably, India had won their first game also by an innings and 222 runs.
