Ranchi, March 25: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today expressed his commitment to rescue the ‘mother of industries’, Heavy Engineering Corporation, from the crisis.
His commitment came to the fore after independent legislator Saryu Roy raised the issue of HEC through a non-official resolution in the Jharkhand assembly expressing his concern over its situation and asked the state government to mount pressure on the union government.
Soren said the public sector unit is an iconic structure that has played a vital role in the development of the country and the state government has always thought about its permanent existence according to its ability and capacity.
“Saryu Roy Ji Ka Vichar Sarahniya Hai Par Bharat Sakar Ka Ravaiya Udyogon Ke Prati Accha Nahi,” Soren said sharing how the union government has started privatizing railways, airports and other PSUs.
“Mujhe Pata Chala Hai Ki Jharkhand Airport Bhi PPP Mode mein Jane Wala Hai,” Soren said while expressing his concern over the plight of HEC.
He, while expressing his commitment for the long life of HEC, alleged the union government of being non-committal to its words.
“Sare formality ko pura karne ka baad bhi Hotel Ashoka Ka Chabhi Abhi Tak Nahi Diya,” Soren said explaining how the state government earlier attempted to take over Hotel Ashoka having a share of the union government to promote tourism but failed.
Soren concluded by saying the that state government will make a fresh attempt for the revival of HEC.
Earlier, Roy suggested the state government to take initiative to ensure that the HEC be transferred to the defence or the atomic energy department from the heavy industry department and take initiative to implement the recommendation of B.K.Saraswat committee for the revival of the industry.
