Jharkhand beat Maharashtra to enter final of 12th Hockey India National Junior Women’s Hockey Championship

Ranchi, April 2: Jharkhand Junior Women’s Team defeated Maharashtra 1-0 in the semi finals of the 12th Hockey India National Junior Women’s Hockey Championship 2022 held in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. This will be Jharkhand’s fifth consecutive final.

 

Dipika Soreng from Jharkhand was the sole goal scorer of the match who scored the match winning goal through a penalty stroke.

 

Earlier, Jharkhand had defeated Assam (9-0), Manipur (14-0) and Uttar Pradesh (4-0) without conceding a single goal.

 

Manoj Konbegi, Vice President at Hockey Jharkhand congratulated the players and wished them best for the finals. “This is the fifth consecutive year that the team has reached the final and we are just one step away from winning the title. I wish them the best for the final,” he said.

 

Jharkhand will take on arch rival Haryana in the Finals on April 3.
