Ranchi, April 2: Amidst growing discontentment among the ranks of the party, the JMM today deployed senior party leader Stephen Marandi to deplore the actions of two MLAs-Lobin Hembrom and Sita Soren-saying they are creating confusion among the public.
Incidentally, Marandi himself was said to be disgruntled after he was denied a ministerial berth in the Hemant Soren cabinet.
“En logon ke dwara jo confusion create jar aha hai use saaf karne aaye hai (I have come to clear the confusion being created by them),” Marandi said, referring to the two party leaders, while addressing media persons at the party central office in Bariatu.
Borio MLA Lobin Hembrom had alleged Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Stephen Marandi of not allowing them to speak in the House on the local policy on the concluding day of the assembly session during the discussion. Marandi rubbished the allegation and held Hembrom responsible for the situation.
“Who will speak on which issue was decided in the party meeting in which he (Hembrom) had not turned up. As far as the allegation against me not allowing him to speak is concerned, I will like to say that while sitting in the chair in the assembly a chairperson is supposed to be impartial and ensure justice to all,” he said, adding that the allegation is the generation of ‘immature dimag (mind).”
Marandi said if Lobin Hembrom had any complaint he should have talked to party chief whip Nalin Soren instead of going in public.
Hembrom is vocal against the JMM-led state government on the issue of its failure in making the 1932 survey record a base for deciding a local.
Marandi said making the 1932 survey record a basis is not justified as surveys had also been conducted at many places in 1964, 2005, and 2011 and as the government decision is required to be taken keeping everything in mind as it is quite possible that many locals may not have Khatiyan.
Marandi while clearing the confusion alleged Hembrom of dancing to the tune of the BJP.
“He is using the photo of party chief Guru Ji (Shibu Soren) and party flag during his meeting though none of the youths present there is associated with the JMM. By burning the effigy of Hemant Soren and mine, he is creating confusion across the state. All these things are being organised by the BJP,” Marandi said.
Asked about his opinion about Sita Soren, JMM senior leader Marandi said her decision to meet the governor was wrong. “It is wrong to complain against the government which is being led by the JMM,” he said, adding why she is worried about ‘Amrapali’ when there are several ‘Palis’.
Asked about the way out, Marandi said now only Guruji can handle the situation and both should talk to him. It is wrong to put the party in the dock though they are part of the party, he said.
