Ranchi, April 14: India is paying tribute to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary today. Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren also paid homage to Baba Saheb on Thursday by offering floral tribute to the statue of Baba Saheb at Ambedkar Chowk, located near the Jharkhand High Court.

The CM praised the constitution composed by Baba Saheb. He said, this Constitution is the light of a society forced to remain exploited for centuries. It is the pillar of providing education and rights to the deprived society. It is not just a book, it is like a ‘granth.’

Notably, Dr. Ambedkar’s innumerable efforts in the formation of modern-day India are commemorated on April 14 as Ambedkar Jayanti. Ambedkar Jayanti is also observed to commemorate the jurist’s commitment to combating social evils like as caste injustice and oppression. Today, India is paying tribute to him on his 131st birth anniversary.
