JEE Advanced 2023 syllabus changes, Apex Board to conduct exams instead of NTA

Ranchi, May 14: The syllabus of JEE Advanced exam to be conducted in the year 2023 has been changed. Along with this, it has also been decided that instead of NTA, the JEE Advanced exam will be conducted by a new 19-member JEE Apex Board.

Notably, Changes have been made in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There is no clear information about the kind of changes, however, sources have claimed that some parts have been removed from the three main subjects, while some parts have been added. The new syllabus of JEE Advanced will soon be updated on the official website of JEE Advanced at www.jeeadv.ac.in.

Along with this, a new 19-member JEE Apex Board has been formed that will now have the responsibility of conducting the yearly exams. The registration for JEE Advanced exam primarily starts after the release of JEE Main result. This year the exam is to be conducted on August 28.

As per the schedule, the JEE Main 2022 session 1 exam will be held from June 20 to 29, 2022, while the session 2 exam is to be conducted from July 21 to July 30, 2022. After the results are out, the JEE Advanced exam will be organised on August 28, 2022.

The new Apex Board in future will also have the right to issue policy, rules and orders related to JEE Main examinations. Along with this, it will also look after financial and court matters including making administrative decisions related to the examination. The Director General (DG) of the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been made the board’s member secretary. Directors of IIT Kharagpur, Bombay and Guwahati have also been placed in this new apex board constituted by the government just before JEE Mains exam.

Along with the directors of NITs and IIIT, one representative each from the state governments of Haryana, Bihar, Gujarat and Karnataka, the chairman of CBSE and the additional secretary of the education ministry have also been placed on the board.
