Ramgarh, May 18: A fake doctor named Ram Babu Prasad alias Rambabu Rajak, working at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College, Hazaribagh, was arrested by the Hazaribagh Sadar police and forwarded to judicial custody.

According to information, Rambabu had no experience in treatment. After examining children, he used to talk to a senior doctor on phone about the medicines or check on the internet for the disease and then prescribe medicines on prescription.

This matter was noticed by the hospital management and common people also complained about it. During interrogation, Rambabu Rajak told that before his appointment here, he used to work as a private practitioner in Khunti and Bokaro.

The Indian Medical Association has reported after investigating the matter that the arrested doctor is fake. Based on this, the superintendent also lodged an FIR.

But even when Rambabu was arrested, he continued to claim himself to be real. He kept on talking about being a victim of a conspiracy. “I am real, despite this, I am being framed,” he said.

Taking action on this, the medical college Superintendent Dr Vinod Kumar had sent all his documents to the Medical Council of Bihar and sought a report after examining it.

The Medical Council of Bihar sent a report to the Hazaribagh Medical College Hospital management saying that they do not have any doctor by this name. The registration number, that Rambabu Rajak claims as his, belongs to Dr Rambabu Prasad, who is doing PG in Muzaffarpur. According to the investigation, all the documents for obtaining a degree from Medical College Darbhanga are fake. His personal certificate is also wrong.

After the Medical Council of Bihar informed that all the documents were fake, Superintendent Dr Vinod Kumar complained about the situation at the Sadar police station. A 31-page application with complete documents was submitted and the Sadar police station registered a case.

Taking action, the Sadar police arrested him from Vishnupuri Mohalla in the city with the help of the Technical Cell.  After the arrest, the alleged doctor Rambabu Prasad told that he was living with the nephew of a relative.

Sadar police station in-charge Inspector Ganesh Kumar Singh said that his arrest took place within an hour of the FIR. He was hiding in a locality of Vishnupuri street number 4.  For one and a half years, he was playing with the lives of people by acting as a doctor.
