Ranchi, May 18: The four companies that the Enforcement Directorate suspects as shell companies were said to be managed by Ravi Kejriwal whom the ED has questioned regarding his involvement in money laundering through the shell companies.
During the hearing on Tuesday, the Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta said that out of 32 companies listed by the petitioner in PIL 4290/2021 regarding money laundering through the shell company, the name of four companies have surfaced in the ED probe.
These include Destination Nirman Private Limited (Est. 24 June 2008), Gayatri Commotrade Pvt Ltd (Est. January 11, 2010), Shivmangal Vinimay Pvt Ltd (Est. 11 July 2007), and Vasundhara Vincom Pvt Ltd which was set-up on September 3, 2008. According to the information, Ravi Kejriwal and Shiv Shankar Agrawal are the directors of these companies. All these companies have the same address as registered office 17, Ganesh Chandra Avenue, 3rd Floor, Room 303, Kolkata. Petitioner Shiv Shankar Sharma said these were loss-making companies but the major portion of reserves and surplus account is of securities premium.
The petitioner has claimed that Ravi Kejriwal is close to the chief minister Hemant Soren and these shell companies were used to park unaccounted money. Ravi Kejriwal is among the respondents of the PIL.
