New Delhi, May 24: The Congress has formed a ‘Task Force 2024’ for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which includes poll strategist Sunil Kanugolu.

P Chidambaram, Mukul Wasnik, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Randeep Singh Surjewala, and Sunil Kanugolu are among the senior leaders in the group.

At present, Kanugolu is working with Congress in Telangana and Karnataka and making a strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls.

Prashant Kishor recently gave a presentation to a group of senior Congress leaders on the roadmap for the 2024 elections, and then All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Randeep Surjewala announced the formation of an Empowered Action Group for the elections.

Each member of the Task Force will be allocated specific tasks pertaining to organisation, communications and media, outreach, funding, and election management, according to the Congress statement. They will have designated teams that will be informed later.

The Task Force will also investigate the Udaipur Sankalp Declaration and the six groups’ reports.

Aside from Task Force 2024, the Congress has formed a Political Affairs Group led by Sonia Gandhi, the party’s interim president.

G-23 leaders like Gulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma, who are in the Political Affairs group with Rahul Gandhi, are involved in the three committees constituted by the party. Shashi Tharoor has also been added to the Central Planning Group for the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ coordination.

Digvijay Singh, who has been included in the Political Affairs Group and will be heading the Central Planning group for the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ which is the party’s Central Idea to kick off the campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha election, is another prominent figure in AICC politics.
