New Delhi, Sep 18: The Aam Aadmi Party issued a Three Line Whip to its Rajya Sabha MPs on Monday asking that they attend the Special Session of Parliament from September 18 to 22.

Very significant topics would be discussed in the Upper House during the upcoming special session, the whip to the party’s Rajya Sabha MPs stated.

“All members of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Rajya Sabha are hereby, informed that some very important issues will be taken up in the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming special session. In view of this, all members of the Aam Aadmi Party are requested to be positively present in the house from 11 AM onwards until the adjournment of the House from 18th September to 22nd September 2023 and support the stand of the party” it said.

The Special Session will feature a discussion of the 75-year history of the Parliament, beginning with the Samvidhan Sabha, which first convened on December 9, 1946.

On the first day of the five-sitting long special session, a discussion titled “Parliamentary Journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – Achievements, Experiences, Memories and Learnings” would take place in Parliament, a parliamentary bulletin issued on Wednesday stated.

Political circles were taken aback by the announcement of the Special Session as the parties are preparing for the upcoming assembly elections in five states later this year.

A day before the start of the Special Session of Parliament, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar raised the national flag at the new Parliament building.

Parliamentary proceedings will move from the old to the nearby new building for the Special Session, which begins on Monday.

Up on “Gaja Dwar” of the new Parliament building, Dhankhar hoisted the flag. Om Birla, the speaker of the Lok Sabha, attended the event as well.
