New Delhi, Oct 13: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh, who was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to a money laundering inquiry associated with the 2021-22 Delhi Excise policy case, has submitted a legal challenge in the Delhi High Court to contest his arrest.
Additionally, he has contested the trial court’s decision to remand him. The Delhi High Court is expected to address this issue today.
Sanjay Singh’s ED detention was extended earlier this week by a Delhi court until Friday, October 13. The court stated that the extension was necessary due to the finding of new information and the recovery of new digital evidence during a recent search by ED.
The ruling was issued in response to an application made by the anti-money laundering agency by Special Judge for ED Cases M K Nagpal.
Following searches at his home in the nation’s capital, the AAP leader was arrested by the ED on October 4 in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor scam.
