New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena following his claims that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is on a “low calorie diet” while in jail. In a response letter, AAP accused the L-G of making baseless claims and expressed deep concerns over Kejriwal’s health.

AAP leaders argued that the L-G’s assertions are not only unfounded but dangerously dismissive of Kejriwal’s medical condition. They emphasized that the Chief Minister, who has a history of diabetes, is at substantial risk of a serious health crisis, including a potential brain stroke.

“What kind of joke is this, L-G Sir?” AAP leader Sanjay Singh questioned in a social media post. “Would someone intentionally lower their sugar levels at night? This is extremely dangerous. If you are not well-versed in medical conditions, such statements should not be made. We hope you never face such a situation yourself.”

Delhi Minister Atishi further explained that Kejriwal’s diabetes has caused frequent fluctuations in his sugar levels, posing severe risks. She warned that sudden drops in sugar levels can be life-threatening, potentially leading to a stroke or coma.

“Atishi highlighted that Kejriwal’s sugar levels have dangerously dropped to 50 on several occasions. Despite this, the BJP seems indifferent to his well-being, putting his life at risk,” she added.

The controversy erupted after the L-G’s office sent a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, expressing concern that Kejriwal had been consuming less than the prescribed diet, despite being provided adequate food. The letter also mentioned that deviations from the prescribed diet could have serious medical and legal consequences.
