New Delhi, March 21: The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to propose veteran cricketer Harbhajan Singh, senior party leader Raghav Chadha, and IIT-Delhi Associate Professor Sandeep Pathak to the Rajya Sabha following its historic victory in Punjab assembly elections.
AAP will nominate them to Rajya Sabha from Punjab.
Earlier in 2018, the AAP gave one seat to longtime party leader Sanjay Singh from Delhi, and the remaining two seats to newcomers Sushil Gupta and ND Gupta, despite outcry from both within and outside the party.
Notably, the Election Commission (EC) just stated that polls will be place on March 31 for five of Punjab’s seven Rajya Sabha seats. The deadline for nominations is March 21.
