New Delhi, Jan 5: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released the cricket calendar for 2023-24 on Thursday. The ‘pathway structure and cricket calendars’ were revealed on the ACC president Jay Shah’s official Twitter account.
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah on Thursday unveiled the qualification system for the Men’s and Women’s Asia Cups.
The Asia Cup 2023 will take place in September, and India and Pakistan will play in the same group, according to the BCCI secretary.
“Presenting the @ACCMedia1 pathway structure & cricket calendars for 2023 & 2024! This signals our unparalleled efforts & passion to take this game to new heights. With cricketers across countries gearing up for spectacular performances, it promises to be a good time for cricket!” tweeted Shah.
According to the revised calendar, the Men’s Challengers Cup, a ten-team fifty-over competition, will kick off in 2023. There will be ten teams competing in this tournament, eight of which are Iran, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Bhutan, China, Myanmar, Thailand, and Bhutan. There are still two unnamed teams. There are two groups, each with five teams. There will be 23 games overall.
A Men’s Under-16 Regional Tournament will take place in March. Eight teams from different regions will compete in the competition.
Men’s Challengers Cup champions and runners-up will go to the Men’s Premier Cup, a 50-over competition. There will be 24 matches in this league, which will take place in April.
