Active Covid cases in India rise to 61,233

New Delhi, April 18: The number of new coronavirus infections in India was 7,633, while the number of active cases has risen to 61,233, according to figures provided on Tuesday by the Union Health Ministry.

With 11 deaths, the total number of fatalities has risen to 5,31,152.

According to the data updated at 8 am, four deaths were reported from Delhi, one each from Haryana, Karnataka, and Punjab, and four deaths were verified by Kerala.

The total number of cases of Covid so far was 4.47 crore (4,48,34,859). According to the ministry, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.68%, and active cases currently make up 0.14 per cent of all infections.

4,42,42,474 persons have recovered from the illness, while the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.18 per cent.

The website of the ministry reports that the country has already received 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the national vaccination campaign.
