Active Covid cases in India surge to 66,170

New Delhi, April 21: According to data published on Friday by the Union Health Ministry, 11,692 new coronavirus infections have been reported in India, while the number of active cases has risen to 66,170.

The figures updated at 8 am showed that the death toll rose to 5,31,258 with 28 deaths, nine of which Kerala reconciled.

The overall tally of Covid cases was 4.48 crore (4,48,69,684). According to the ministry, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.67%, and active cases currently make up 0.15 per cent of all infections.

4,42,72,256 persons have recovered from the illness, while the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.18 per cent.

The website of the ministry reports that the country has already received 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the ongoing national vaccination campaign.
