Moscow: A Russian AN-26 military transport aircraft has crashed over the Crimea region, resulting in the death of all 29 people on board, including six crew members and 23 passengers. The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed the incident after rescue teams located the crash site.

Loss of Contact and Crash Details

According to officials, the aircraft lost contact while flying over the Crimean Peninsula. Search and rescue teams later discovered the wreckage, confirming that there were no survivors. Reports indicate that the aircraft collided with a rocky surface before crashing.

Preliminary Cause Points to Technical Failure

Initial findings suggest that the crash may have been caused by a technical malfunction. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. The incident has raised concerns over the operational safety of military transport aircraft in the region.
