Ranchi, June 13 : Adani Foundation has adopted 70 new TB patients this time under the Gondalpura mining project at Barkagaon in Hazaribagh district. Most of the 60 TB patients adopted earlier have recovered.
Adani Foundation distributed nutritious diet kits among these 70 patients under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana’ at the Community Health Center in Barkagaon on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Medical Officer in-charge of Barkagaon, Dr. BN Prasad said that the Adani Foundation has set a big benchmark. There are very few companies that adopt TB patients even in the second stage. That’s why this initiative by the Adani Foundation is a big deal.
District TB Program Coordinator Tipu Sultan said that the Adani Foundation is the first such corporate house in Hazaribagh district, which had provided nutrition kits to 60 TB patients for six months last year and has maintained them this time also. He said that this time the quality and quantity of nutrition food kits has also been increased, which is welcome.
In the programme, District TB Officer Dr. RK Jaiswal told the patients that in addition to the medicines, the nutritional food they are getting should be consumed regularly so that TB can be cured. He said that this effort by the Adani Foundation will reduce the number of TB patients.
The people present during the programme also took an oath to make the country TB free. Everyone said in one voice that they have to make their locality, village and city TB free. The kit, distributed under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana’, contained food items like Horlicks, Chyawanprash, Arhar Dal, Chana, Jaggery, Green Moong and Mustard Oil. .
Gondalpura Mining Project Head Dharmendra Dubey, Deputy General Manager Sanjay Kumar, Associate Manager Bhikham Singh, CSR Manager Mohit Gupta and Sharad Mishra were present on the occasion.
