Kabul: The Taliban has issued a decree banning men from shaving, smoking. Also, there is a ban on women going out alone. It is reported that after capturing a district in northern Afghanistan, the local imam has issued his first order through a letter. AFP quoted 25-year-old Sefatullah, a resident of Kalafgan district, as saying that according to the decree, women cannot go to the market without men. It is mandatory for men to have a beard. The Taliban has also banned the smoking of cigarettes and bidis.

It has been warned that if anyone does not follow the rules and regulations, he will be punished severely. Let us tell you that after the withdrawal of American and NATO troops, the Taliban are moving forward rapidly. They are occupying districts and major borders of the country, laying siege to the Taliban provincial capital. According to sources, in some areas, they are again trying to implement a strict system of Islamic rule.

Northern Customs Outpost Captured Shir Khan Bandar

Let us know that last month the Taliban captured Shir Khan Bandar, a northern customs post. This post is located on the American built bridge connecting Afghanistan with Tajikistan on the Panj River. Sajda, a factory worker, told AFP news agency that after the capture of Shir Khan Bandar, the Taliban have issued orders for women not to leave their homes. Sajda told that many women and young girls were doing embroidery, sewing and shoe making. But now they are all scared, scared by the orders of the Taliban.

The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001. During that time women were ordered to stay inside the house, unless a male relative was with them, they were not allowed to go out. Girls were not allowed to go to school, and those found guilty of crimes such as adultery were put to death. The Taliban came under US target after the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York. Men had more freedom than women, but they were forbidden to shave.

People were beaten up for not attending Namaz

People were beaten up for not attending Namaz and everyone was asked to wear traditional clothes. Afghanistan is highly conservative and some rural areas of the country follow similar rules without Taliban oversight. But the Taliban have tried to enforce these stereotypes even more harshly. However, this time the Taliban, projecting its soft image, has shrugged off these statements and said that it has not issued any such order. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said, these are baseless claims. These are rumors spread using fake documents.”

Banned from leaving home at night

The Taliban may shy away from these statements, but people living in the occupied areas are saying that the viral post on social media is true. Residents gather at a local mosque after the Taliban captured Yavan district on the Tajikistan border. Nazir Mohamed, 32, told AFP, his commanders told us that no one is allowed to leave the house at night. Referring to the colors of the Afghan flag, he said, “Nobody else—especially the youth—can wear red and green. Mohammad Nazir said, according to the order of the Taliban, everyone should wear a turban and no man can shave.
