Dhanbad, July 2: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav has ordered a probe against a retired medical officer Dr Renuka Choudhary of Jamshedpur for allegedly withdrawing her salary without attending duty in the health department.
Dr Renuka Choudhary, who was posted in the East Singhbhum district tuberculosis department, retired from the service in April 2011.
Secret Branch (Gopniya Shakha) of the DC has ordered the civil surgeon (CS) of East Singhbum (dated 11-6-2022) to probe the written complaint of a Human Right Organization activist Nikhil Kumar, resident of Birsa Nagar of Jamshedpur and submit the report to the DC immediately.
The copies of the DC’s order and complainant letter are in possession of lagatar24.com.
The complainant in his written complaint to the DC has alleged that Dr Choudhary was absent from her duty from September 1, 1995, to April 30, 2011, but she illegally withdrew her salary during the absent period and embezzled the government fund.
The complainant has also alleged that the son of Dr Renuka Choudhary has disappeared all documents related to the deployment of Dr Choudhary in the district tuberculosis department and vouchers of payment she withdrew from office.
Nikhil Kumar has demanded a probe of the allegation and legal action against the retired medical officer.
The complaint lodged by a human rights activist after 11 years of retirement of Dr Choudhary has triggered controversy in the East Singhbhum district health department.
The medical fraternity in the East Singhbhum district questioned the wisdom of a human rights organization activist to demand a probe against a senior doctor after 11 years of her retirement.
