Ranchi, March 1: After Sadar Hospital, RIMS which is the state’s largest hospital with an integrated Covid centre has also become corona free with no active cases in the hospital.
At the same time, the Covid task force has been kept ready for any emergency and the beds have also been reserved for the Covid patients arriving hospital for treatment.
However, the New Trauma Centre will now be used for the ordinary patients where Covid patients were being treated earlier.
RIMS Public Relation Officer, Dr Dipendra Kumar Sinha said that though there are no cases of Covid in the hospital then also the hospital has reserved beds for Covid patients who may arrive.
“The wards which were earlier used for covid patients are now being used by the respective departments and in case Covid patients arrive the ward will be emptied to accommodate the Covid patients,” Dr Sinha said.
Active Covid cases in Ranchi have substantially decreased to 125 on Monday, with 20 recoveries reported against 12 new infections.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, as many as 1,11,546 people have been infected in the district, of whom 1,606 have contracted the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 20 districts of the state reported no fresh Covid infections taking the 7 days growth rate to 0.01% in the state.
During the last 24 hours, the state reported 81 recoveries against 18 new infections, further bringing down the number of active cases to 418. No casualty was reported from any district.
As many as 21,672 samples were tested in the state which returned 18 positive cases equating to a positivity rate of 0.08%, the lowest since the outbreak of the third wave.
The cumulative cases in the state touches 4,34,381 of whom 4,28,648 have recovered and 5,315 have died. This indicates a recovery rate of 98.68% and a mortality rate of 1.22% compared to the national figures of 98.60% and 1.20% respectively.
