Daltonganj, July 2: A top business class family Permode Agrawal-Kanchan Agrawal of Sudna locality in Daltonganj is doing a different kind of Kar Sewa for the Kawaryas in the Shravani Mela Deoghar.
This Agrawal family sends a 100-plus team of youths to Deoghar to camp there for the entire stretch of the Shravani Mela serving and caring for Kawaryas every year.
On Sunday, the Agrawal family did the same. The sent off of the Shravani Mela Sewadar from the Agrawal house was graced by MP Vishnu Dayal Ram, former Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari, former minister K N Tripathy, Vijayanand Pathak (BJP district president), Avinash Dev and others.
Kanchan Agrawal speaking to Lagatar24.com said, “Permode Agrawal and his family is doing this free service for the last 22 years. It is done in memory of Mata Hiramani Devi. It is all free. The family takes pride in spending on the Sewadars.”
He said, “The Agrawal family bears all the cost and expenses of our fleet of Sewadars. The Sewadars move in with their families. The Agrawal family takes care of their every need like accommodation, food, transportation, medicine.”
Kanchan Agrawal further said, “The Agrawal family holds langar there too during the Sharavani Mela where our Sewadars ensure no Kawarnyas face any inconvenience. Tea, snacks, food all come in plenty there. They are instructed to serve and serve the Kawaryas.”
The send-off ceremony today was most impressive. Elites of the town were present. There was a posse of police force to regulate the traffic as well.
Devotional songs were played where women and children rejoiced at the religious ceremony.
