Ranchi, March 23: The All India Institute of Medical Science, an apex body for medical treatment, has refused to admit jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Though officially not confirmed, sources said that the refusal came from AIIMS as his treatment is going well at RIMS.
Dr Vidyapati at RIMS said, “Nothing is confirmed as of now, we had referred him as his creatinine levels shot up.”
The decision to shift Lalu, who was convicted in fodder scam cases, to a higher medical centre was taken after his creatinine levels shot up, affecting his kidney functions.
On Tuesday, the medical board which was looking after his health at RIMS had convened a meeting and the members unanimously decided on shifting him to a higher medical centre.
The meeting was presided by RIMS director Dr Kameshwar Prasad and attended by HOD Dr Vidyapati and head of critical care Dr Pradeep Bhattacharya among others.
Dr Prasad had said that Lalu Prasad has been suffering from kidney, heart, as well as other problems and the decision to shift him to AIIMS, has been taken as his creatinine levels shot up to 4.6 which can lead to kidney failure.
