Bhopal, Sep 30: In honour of its 91st anniversary, the Indian Air Force (IAF) treated Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, to an aerial display above Bhojtal Lake that showcased the country’s current level of aviation power and thrilled the crowd with exhilarating aerobatic performances.
The Indian Air Force’s CH-47F (I) Chinook helicopters performed exhilarating aerobatic shows over the lake.
Senior personnel of the Indian Air Force as well as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Governor Mangubhai Patel were there to see the fly-past program.
Earlier this week, as part of the celebrations for Air Force Day, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari met with retired air warriors in New Delhi.
IAF officials said, “As part of the Air Force Day celebrations, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari met veteran air warriors in New Delhi. The Air Force Chief used the occasion to discuss different issues faced by the veterans and instructed the officials concerned to address them at the earliest.”
The formal induction of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 1932 is commemorated on Air Force Day. The head of the Indian Air Force and senior officers attend every year’s celebration of the day.
The first operational squadron was established in 1933 and the Air Force was formally established in 1932 as the supporting force for the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom. Since 1950, the IAF has participated in Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus, and Operation Poomalai, among other significant missions.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) will commemorate its 91st anniversary on October 8, 2023.
