Youth commits suicide at MGMMCH Jamshedpur after being rescued from failed suicide bid

Jamshedpur, Sept 29: A 25-year-old  youth who was admitted to the MGM Medical College Hospital with multiple injuries on Friday afternoon, committed suicide in the hospital’s emergency ward’s bathroom in the evening.

Identified as Mintu Majhi, a resident of the Arsha Thana area in the Purulia district of Bengal, the deceased sustained multiple injuries today as he attempted to commit suicide by jumping from a running train in the Chaibasa area earlier.

OC, Sakchi Thana Sanjay Kumar Singh under whose jurisdiction the MGM Medical College Hospital falls confirmed about the suicide by an injured patient in the hospital’s emergency ward bathroom.

“Son of Nityanand Majhi, Mintu committed suicide by hanging at the hospital premises this evening after making a bid on his life by jumping from a running train somewhere around near Chaibasa this afternoon, ” said Singh while talking to lagatar24.com.

The OC said it was after the youth had sustained multiple injuries in the attempt that the police had brought him to the medical college hospital for treatment, ” the OC said, adding the reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
