Passengers from India can only enter Hong Kong provided they have a Covid-19 negative certificate from a test conducted 48 hours prior to departure, according to Hong Kong government regulations.
Notably, Hong Kong had announced a two-week suspension on inbound aircraft from eight nations, including India, earlier this year, as the world continues to see an increase in the Omicron strain of Covid-19. At a press conference, HKSAR Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced the flying suspension. According to Xinhua, the prohibition will affect travellers from Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the United States, as well as transferring passengers. The decision to suspend flights was made, according to Lam, because to a fast shift in the local COVID-19 scenario.
