Jamshedpur, March 16: A six-seater small aircraft Piper Seneca belonging to Alchemist Aviation Private Limited met with a mishap as it crash-landed at the Jamshedpur Airport in Sonari this afternoon.
Officials of the aviation company said the trainee pilot escaped unhurt as the aircraft crash-landed as it developed a snag at the time of landing.
“The wheels of the aircraft failed to eject out at the time of landing resulting in the mishap, ” said an official.
The matter was immediately reported to the Director-General of Civil Aviation ( DGCA ) which has ordered a probe.
Sources said emergency services were activated as soon as the mishap took place.
Notably, the private aviation company provides training for commercial pilots. The aviation firm has as many as five aircrafts used for training purposes.
