Ranchi, Jan.24: The AJSU Party took strong exception to the Jharkhand government’s initiative to use liquor as a source of income.

The party organizing a press conference at its office in Harmu Housing Colony said that the government which failed to ensure home delivery of oxygen cylinder and medicine during the second wave of Covid-19 and left people to die is busy ensuring home delivery of liquor.

“Sharab Aapke Dwar,” the party spokesperson Deo Sharan Bhagat commented during the press conference.

The spokesperson also said that at a time when school children are away from schools, the government instead of thinking about their education by providing them electronic devices to study online is thinking about liquor business. “Pathashala Thapp, Madhushala Up,” he said, taking dig at the government thought process.

The statement came a few days after the state cabinet planned appointing a Chhattisgarh based agency to get consultancy business to increase revenue by sale of liquor in the state.

Bhagat said while the concept of JMM’s chief Shibu Soren is to make Jharkhand free from the habit of liquor consumption, the state government led by his son is committed to ensure home delivery of liquor.
