New Delhi: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged that the Election Commission is working solely for the BJP, as 19 opposition parties prepared to march from Parliament House to the Commission’s office in a “Save Democracy March” against the SIR and to demand CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.

“Only BJP Members Seem to Be Citizens in EC’s Eyes”

Speaking after reaching Delhi to join the march, Akhilesh Yadav took a swipe at the Commission, saying that going by its attitude, it appears that only BJP members are Indian citizens in its eyes and that only they hold the right to vote. He said such questions are being raised again and again.

RJD’s Manoj Jha Questions Form 6 and Fairness of Polls

RJD MP Manoj Jha said that if Form 6 had never been approved, the Supreme Court has spoken of setting aside the Election Commission’s unilateral decisions. He alleged that free and fair elections are simply not possible under Gyanesh Kumar’s leadership. He said INDIA bloc MPs would march towards the Election Commission today, adding that democratic institutions need to be strengthened if democracy and the Constitution are to be saved.
