New Delhi, Juner 30: The Amarnath Yatra is due to begin today after a two-year hiatus. Along with sending out the greatest number of troops possible, security personnel on the ground are also carrying out intensive counter terror operations to preserve the 43-day yatra incident-free.
Terrorist violence has decreased and military action has increased as a result of security services’ offensive strategy. Up to 30 terrorists were killed in June of this year, which is the most this year.
According to data from the Home Ministry, 121 terrorists were murdered by security personnel in the first half of the year, 87 of whom were natives and 34 of foreign descent.
The de-induction course lasted for around two weeks and was designed to familiarise jawans with the most recent threats, including drone assaults, improvised explosive devices, and sticky bombs.
Another terrorist group, TRF, whose communications have been eavesdropped, has informed local security services on the use of “sticky bombs.”
Records show that up to 144 terrorists, 82 of whom are foreign terrorists and 62 of whom are local, are still operating in the Valley.
