Srinagar, July 14: Due to severe weather and heavy downpours in the Kashmir Valley, Amarnath Yatra was postponed on both routes on Thursday, according to officials.
No pilgrim was permitted to advance towards the sacred cave shrine in the morning, they claimed, and the yatra was momentarily suspended from the Pahalgam and Baltal paths.
The yatra will resume as the weather is better, according to the officials.
Prior to this, the yatra was halted for three days due to a cloudburst on July 8 that resulted in 16 fatalities and over 30 unaccounted persons. On Monday, it resumed via the Pahalgam route, and on Tuesday, using the Baltal route.
