New Delhi, Nov.23: The cost of Amazon Prime membership is expected to rise by up to 50% in December. The existing annual Prime membership plan, priced at Rs. 999, will stay in effect until December 13, according to a new screenshot from the Amazon app. The Amazon Prime subscription will then cost Rs. 1,499, an increase of Rs. 500 or over 50%. Amazon confirmed to Gadgets 360 a month ago that the membership price would be increased, but no specific date for the change was given.
On the Desi Dime discussion forums, a community member shared a screenshot from the Amazon app, confirming the move to new Amazon Prime subscription prices starting December 13. The higher prices have already been verified by Amazon.
The yearly Amazon Prime subscription plan will cost Rs. 1,499 instead of Rs. 999, the three-month plan will cost Rs. 459 instead of Rs. 329, and the one-month Amazon Prime subscription plan will cost Rs. 179 instead of Rs. 129.
Users who need to renew their Amazon Prime membership should do it as soon as possible because the annual charge will increase by Rs. 500. Even Amazon’s website has been modified to reflect the new Prime membership cost. The last day to purchase a subscription at the old price is now December 13.
While the price of Amazon Prime has increased, the perks of the subscription have not changed. Free one- to two-day delivery is available on eligible addresses, and there is no minimum purchase value required for free standard delivery.
It also allows you to watch Prime Video and listen to Prime Music. In addition, with the Amazon Pay ICICI bank credit card, Amazon Prime members get limitless 5% reward points on Amazon purchases, free in-game content on popular mobile games with Prime Gaming, and free access to a rotating selection of books with Prime Reading.
