Moscow, April 10: After Moscow’s forces failed to conquer Kyiv, Russian President Vladimir Putin chose a new Army General Alexander Dvornikov, commander of Russia’s Southern Military District, to conduct the war in Ukraine.
Dvornikov has been appointed as the theatre commander for Russia’s military assault in Ukraine. There is conjecture that Russia’s general wants to represent Putin on the battlefield before ‘Victory Day’ on May 9, according to CNN, which cited military analysts and US sources familiar with intelligence assessments.
The 9th of May, often known as ‘Victory Day,’ is the most important day in Russia since it commemorates the Soviet Union’s victory over Germany during World War II.
The “Victory Day,” according to the European official, is a “self-imposed deadline” that might inspire the Russians to make more mistakes or perhaps push Russian soldiers to conduct further crimes, as was allegedly the case in Bucha.
Russia’s pullout from northern Ukraine reveals signs of non-combatants being disproportionately targeted, according to a UK military intelligence bulletin released on Saturday.
According to CNN on April 8, the UK Ministry of Defence claims that Russian forces have been removed from northern Ukraine.
Meanwhile, according to Ukraine’s local media outlet, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that 13 Russian aerial targets were destroyed on Saturday.
